Today, let’s talk about a problem that women who ever wear wigs usually meet. When you buy yourself a wig and the joke is the wig is too big for you. You might start trying to fix it, but the result could not be perfect - the cap is still big or too tight.

Here are two simple but pretty good ways you would love to try!

Apply Elastic Band Method

You can still achieve a realistic hairline by applying the elastic band method.

Before you decide to using elastic band method, here is the list of tools that you will use:

1.The elastic band (extra thick)

3.Needle and thread

4.Tape measure

Then, you can measure distance between your left and right ears. Cut the elastic band base on your head measurement. Here’s an example:

Remember to leave your snug fit, so you can use the distance minus the snug fit to get your length of elastic.

Next, you can place your new elastic band and make sure put it goes along the curve of the wig cap. Then using the needle and thread to sew the elastic band in. Sew the edges of the band to each side of your lace closure, don’t forget to make knots by using the thread to secure the elastic band.

Needle and thread Method

If you don’t have elastic band, you can use your needle and thread to tighten your cap.

You are still going to use the same tool package as elastic band method, but in this method, using c needle would be better.

First, you will find a spot that behind your left ear on your wig cap, sew it on and secure the one side at the spot. You can go secure each spot by sew the thread in twice to make it very security. Following the same step to sew the all the way around the edge of the cap till you get to the other side of a spot which should behind your right ear on the cap. Remember do not cut the thread off yet after you finish your last stitch. You will pull the thread to tighten your wig, you will kind of get it stretched all the way around. At this point, you could put your wig on to fix the tightness of the cap. Once you get your suitable tightness, you could take off the wig and secure the knot to finish the last stitch. That’s it! You’ve done your job!

  • How To Bleach Knots Properly?

    Create time:2018-02-07 20:40 | LEAVE A COMMENT

Recently, we received several feedback and questions about bleaching knots on a lace wig, so today, we will talk about this, shall we?

Some people tried to bleach the knots at home in order to make the hairline and handtied knot more natural; however, things are always going to the opposite way, the hair is messed up and became shedding. Why? Is this because my wig is in bad quality? Can I bleach my hair construction/ cap then? How do I do to reduce the harm to my hair if I bleach knots? Hope you can find your answers in this article .

Firstly, you need to choose right products. Attention! Not every wigs can be bleached!

If you purchase a natural black wig, here you go, you can bleach knots as you wish!

If you purchase a wig that labeled that was bleached once and never be dyed before, yes, you could bleach knots a little.

If your wig is labelled 1B#,2# and it is a dyed color one, we badly not recommend you bleach knots.

Also, almost every dark color (except natural black) wig could not sustain re-bleached more than once. Outer layer of hair is covered by the hair dye, the hair dye cream like a protective layer to protect the inner layer hair. If we bleach the dyed hair, the protective layer would “have a fight” with the bleach liquid, and we can tell the hair would have the great damage and the wigs becomes shedding as the result of we're bleaching knots.

After I choose a right wig, how do I bleach?

Here're several key points and key steps that we usually follow from:

    Bleach Powder/Liquid

    Developer (at the correct volume)

    Aluminum Foil

    Mixing Bowl

    Mixing Brush

    Your Closure/Frontal/Lace Wig

    Step 1

Adjust either your lace wig, frontal or closure, pin it down to your forehead.

*If your closures carry the baby hairs, it’s easily pin them down with clips.

    Step 2

Mix up bleach powder and professional developer in a mixing bowl by equal volume. Make sure to stir the mixture until there’re no lumps in the bowl and to get the moderate consistency.

    Step 3

Gently dab the bleach onto the lace by using your mixing brush. If you put too much pressure onto the lace with the brush, the bleach mixture will leak through from the cap and will bleach the hair. Be sure you apply enough bleach onto the lace to ensure you’re bleaching every single the knot. After you’re applying the bleach, cover the lace closure in the aluminum foil.

    Step 4

Make sure you keep the bleach on until the knots turn into a honey blonde color, then rinse the bleach out. This is vital step because you want to wait until your wig becomes blonde, or you will have a brassy lace.

    Step 5

Rinse the wig upside down quickly to avoid getting mixture onto the hair. After you rinse the bleach out, wash it with a neutralizing shampoo to prevent the chemical processing. Leave shampoo on the wig for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse out. Conditioning your wig to keep it from getting dried out afterwards.
